Ottomar Karl August von Berckefeldt was b. 22 October 1826 in Münden, Germany, and d. 2 April 1908 in Lingen, Germany. He married Amalie Christiane Ernestine Taaks on 27 September 1864 in Norden, Germany. She was b. 2 September 1837 in Norden, Ostfriesland, Germany, and d. 9 March 1905 in Lingen, Germany. They had two children:

1. Karl Wilhelm Johann Theodor von Berckefeldt, b. 5 July 1868 in Lingen, Germany, d. unknown. He is reported to have died rather young, no known children.
2. Anna Helene Gebhardine Emilie von Berckefeldt, b. 6 April 1877 in Lingen, Germany, d. 20 February 1910. Married to Johannes August Rudolf Schaumann on 26 April 1900 in Lingen, Germany. [photo: Anna and family] They had one child:
   • Amalie Frieda Margarethe Schaumann, b.  9 March 1901, d. 25 March 1964, married August Heinrich Brandt and they had two children.
     • Ursula Hanna Elisabeth Brandt married Peter Hansen and they had two children.
     • Erika Emmy Dorothea Brandt married Friedhelm Küther and they had three children.

Contact with this branch of the family was lost in the early 1900s and until very recently no further information was known. We have now received updated information for our genealogy files on this branch of  the family.
