He married Ulrike Charlotte Julie von Voigt, daughter of Otto von Voigt and Therese von Schönfeldt, on 27 March 1857 in Lamspringe, Germany. She was b. 18 November 1933 in Moringen, Germany, and d. 19 September 1893 in Ft. Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. [photo: Karl Edmund and Ulrike]

1. Karl Otto Theodor von Berckefeldt, b. 11 April 1858 in Göttingen, Germany, d. 10 May 1929 in Unna, Germany. He married Helene Karoline Charlotte Liese and they had three children:
   • Hans Karl Wilhelm von Berckefeldt, b. 8 May 1889 in Minden, Westphalen, Germany, d. 21 October 1900 in Soest, Germany.
   • Adele Elise Ulrike von Berckefeldt, b. 7 May 1891 in Minden, Westphalen, Germany, d. 16 April 1958 in Unna, Germany. She married Ernst Hagen and they had two children.
     • Werner Hagen married and had three children.
     • Gisela Hagen married Ernest Kunze and had one child.
   • Wilhelm Friedrich Otto Adolf von Berckefeldt, b. 19 August 1898 in Soest, Germamy, d. 23 October 1918 in Le Cateau, France during World War I.
2. Otto Adalbert Theodor Guido von Berckefeldt, b. 20 May 1859 in Göttingen, Germany, d. 16 November 1884 in Sumatra. No known children.
3. Eberhard Ludwig Albrecht von Berckefeldt, b. 31 October 1860 in Hannover, Germany, d. 7 July 1943 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. He married Maria J. “Dollie” Wilcox, daughter of John J. Wilcox and Elizabeth Frasier. [photos: Eberhard] They had three children:

   • Francesca von Berckefeldt, b. 21 August 1903 in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, d. 19 January 2000 in Palm Springs, Riverside County, California. She married Francisco Antonio Godinez and they had three children.
     • Henry Edmond Godinez, b. 12 September 1925, d. 7 November 1982, married Margaret Jean Daniel and they had four children.
     • Maria Gloria Godinez, b. 20 May 1929, d. 6 January 2016, married Walter George Ressler, Jr. and they had five children.
     • Francisco Antonio Godinez, b. 28 December 1943, d. 21 May 2022, married (1) Patsy L. Brumett and they had three children, and (2) Mona P. Whitaker, and they had one child, and (3) Sharon A. Congdon.
